The First Album

The First Album, Front Cover

This album was recorded live in 1977 at Fiddler's Grove, a great fiddling contest & festival held in Union Grove, North Carolina.  It is held every summer, Memorial Day weekend (end of May).  The album was originally released in 1977 on vinyl, and was reissued on cassette in 1994.  This album is my favorite since it has such a wide variety of musical styles.  It also includes ample sound bites from our 30 hours of live sessions, and really captures their wonderful spirit.

For full details and program notes, please see the original liner notes and accompanying 8 page booklet at: Recordings, Scans.

Enjoy!

P.S.  If you have limited time, be sure to listen to my favorite cut, Cold Frosty Morn.
